Our Genesis (The Royal Foundation) In 1925, a vision was etched into the soil of Laheriasarai. What began as the Temple of Medical Learning was transformed by the boundless philanthropy of Maharaja Rameshwar Singh of Darbhanga. He envisioned an institution that would not only serve the Mithilanchal region but would stand as a beacon of medical excellence for the entire Indian subcontinent. On this 101st Foundation Day, we honor that royal decree—a legacy built on 300 acres of history and a donation that changed the course of medical education in Bihar forever.
A Century of Healing For over 100 years, Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) has been more than just a college; it has been a rite of passage. 1925: The inception of a dream. 1946: Renamed and reorganized to meet the demands of a modernizing India. 2026: A global network of alumni leading the frontiers of medicine. From the iconic red-brick corridors to the high-pressure wards that have trained the most resilient doctors in the world, DMCH has remained steadfast. We have survived transitions, celebrated breakthroughs, and consistently produced healers who serve with a "patient-first" grit that is unique to this soil.

To Innovate: Laying the groundwork for the next 100 years of medical technology, research, and community service.
